I WILL WRITE AND NO ONE CAN STOP ME...

...Said my 14 year old self. Then 15, 16. Now my 22 year old self marches to the same beat. What I once considered a childhood hobby has turned into a life-long excursion with the hopes of one day becoming a professional feat. Thinking it too big a dream, I told little Sarah that writing was just a fun after-school activity, nothing more. I quashed her dreams.

Now I thank her for persevering and holding fast to the delight that sprung up many times throughout the year. Had it not been for her wild thoughts and long-lasting endurance, we would not be here now.

I want to use this space to create a semblance of the bright world that thrives within my head. Though I might never traverse from one side to the other, I would like to begin building the bridge that you and I can walk together.

All I ask is that many years from now I'll look back on these words just as I reflect on my 14 year old self and be proud of the women behind them. May I write to my heart's content and more, challenge myself to be a better woman, and give what I learn to others.

May I one day write for more than myself.
